How we host with care

Approximately 85% off-grid, solar-supported living, with borehole water for the private swimming pool and wood-fired hot tub, heated with Port Jackson invasive wood. We keep a seasonal farm-to-table vegetable, fruit and herb garden, with recycling and a worm farm for our own compost. We use sulphate-free shampoo and conditioner and natural, allergy-conscious body wash, as part of low-density, exclusive-use tourism.

Elevate Grotto Bay supports the importance of mental health awareness, emotional wellbeing and access to support. As part of our purpose-driven brand direction, we aim to support organisations such as SADAG — The South African Depression and Anxiety Group — through awareness, future give-back initiatives and aligned community support. Elevate Grotto Bay believes that meaningful travel should give back. Through our purpose-driven direction, we aim to support community upliftment through organisations such as the Goedgedacht Trust / Goedgedacht Farm, contributing to causes that support children, youth development, sustainable living and communities working to rise beyond hardship and generational poverty. We support local businesses and suppliers, including a local cleaning agency, a homemade rusks supplier, a local wood supplier, Darling Sweets welcome and turndown gifts, and local chefs, spa therapists and guides where available.
